Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an ETS Controls Technician to support multiple manufacturing facilities with equipment installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. This role develops skills in PLC systems, electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and CAD interpretation under guidance from senior technicians and engineering teams.

The position is based at our Houston area site, with a shift pattern that may include overtime and varied hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.
• 0–2 years maintenance experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or industrial systems.
• Ability to read/interpret technical drawings and schematics (training provided).
• Willingness to learn PLC systems and industrial automation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to travel frequently (50–75%).

Responsibilities

• Travel to plants to assist with equipment installation, setup and startup.
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Read electrical schematics, CAD drawings, and maintenance manuals.
• Assist in equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs.
• Keep tools and work areas safe, organized, and compliant with procedures.
• Follow safety policies and participate in training programs.
• Support continuous skill development with engineering teams.
