Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Senior ETS Technician to support multiple manufacturing facilities through installation, commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of production equipment. This role requires expertise with PLC-controlled systems, electrical and mechanical maintenance, hydraulics, and CAD interpretation to keep equipment reliable.

• Associate degree or Technical Certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of PLC systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), including troubleshooting and basic programming
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting CAD drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
• Demonstrated experience in equipment installation, alignment, and commissioning
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in automated or high-speed manufacturing environments
• Ability to travel extensively (50–75% or as required)

Responsibilities

• Travel to multiple plants to support equipment installation, startup, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Install, configure, and maintain PLC-based control systems, including diagnostics and minor programming adjustments
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and CAD drawings for troubleshooting and system modifications
• Support new equipment integration, including factory acceptance, site acceptance, and production ramp-up
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to standardize processes and improve performance
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, system changes, and equipment updates
• Support capital projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives across facilities

Job Description

The Senior ETS Technician is responsible for supporting multiple manufacturing facilities through the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of production equipment. This role requires advanced technical expertise in PLC-controlled systems, electrical and mechanical maintenance, hydraulics, and CAD drawing interpretation. The position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix)

Familiarity with HMI and SCADA systems

Experience with automated production lines, such as roll forming, packaging, or material handling systems

PLC or industrial automation certifications

Welding and fabrication experience

Advanced technical and diagnostic capability

Strong attention to detail and execution discipline

Effective communication across multi-site operations

Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple locations

Strong organizational and time management skills

Adaptability in dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environments
