Job summary

ControlsJobs is seeking a Travelling Controls Technician based in St. Louis, MO. This hands-on field role focuses on commissioning BAS, troubleshooting, and supporting HVAC/building automation projects nationwide.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in controls/BAS, experience with Tridium, Delta, or Johnson FX platforms, and a proven ability to travel 75–90% with per diem coverage. Base salary up to $90,000, plus discretionary bonus and benefits, with per diem and travel accommodations included.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Controls Technician or BAS field specialist.
• Familiar with Tridium, Delta, and/or Johnson FX controls platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to modify control sequences.
• Willing to travel for extended periods (2 weeks to multi-month).
• Must be St. Louis–based for dispatch and home office purposes.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission BAS at multiple project locations across the U.S.
• Troubleshoot, adjust, and update BAS programs
• Conduct point-to-point verification, functional testing, and full system commissioning
• Assist with HVAC equipment start-up, wiring terminations, and controls integration
• Communicate clearly with clients, general contractors, and internal teams
• Work closely with mechanical and controls staff to complete projects efficiently
