Job summary

CAMP Facility Services, LLC is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to lead projects across the Midwest and Southeast U.S. with 90%+ travel. You'll set up operations, recruit local subcontractors, and drive projects to completion on time and on budget.

The role requires 5+ years of construction experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; Procore experience is preferred. Travel-heavy, field-based leadership opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Plan the work: prepare cost estimates, budgets, and schedules.
• Inspect worksites and determine material, labor, and subcontractor needs; participate in pre-construction meetings.
• Launch in new markets: travel to remote markets to prepare estimates and establish operations; apply local building codes, means, and methods; identify and vet local subcontractors and vendors.
• Run the job: coordinate and direct all on-site CAMP employees, subcontractors, tradespeople, and vendors; keep work on schedule and on budget; buy out jobs under $5,000; review invoices and timesheets; find ways to control costs and improve quality.

Traveling Superintendent

Location: Travel-based, Midwest and Southeast U.S. (90%+ travel)

If you like taking a job from budget to closeout and aren’t looking to stay in one place, this role is for you. As a CAMP Traveling Superintendent, you’ll go into new markets, set up operations, build a local subcontractor network, and lead projects to completion on time and on budget.

What You’ll Do

Plan the work

• Prepare cost estimates, construction budgets, and schedules
• Inspect worksites and determine material, labor, and subcontractor needs
• Participate in pre-construction meetings

Launch in new markets

• Travel to remote markets to prepare estimates and establish operations
• Apply local building codes, means, and methods
• Identify, vet, and select local subcontractors and vendors

Run the job

• Coordinate and direct all on-site CAMP employees, subcontractors, tradespeople, and vendors
• Keep work on schedule, on budget, and up to CAMP’s standards
• Buy out jobs with approved construction budgets under $5,000, and support the sales or project manager on larger buyouts
• Review invoices and timesheets for accuracy and compliance with contract terms
• Find ways to control costs and improve quality

What You’ll Bring

• Ability to travel at least 90% of the time in the Midwest and Southeast
• 5+ years' construction experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record per organizational requirements
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
• A high sense of urgency and high integrity
• Confident, resourceful decision-making and problem-solving
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of subcontractors

Preferred

• Multifamily construction experience
• Procore experience
