SKIPCO LLC in Portage, IN is hiring a Construction General Laborer to support daily site operations across commercial and residential jobs. You will work closely with Site Superintendents, travel between sites, and perform a variety of hands-on tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction labor across commercial and residential projects.
• Hands-on experience operating power tools and construction machinery.
• Safety-first mindset and adherence to site protocols.
• Scheduling flexibility for night shifts, weekends, and off-hours.
• Autonomy with strong organization and independent task completion.
• Driving ability to pull a trailer is preferred.
• Friendly, professional, adaptable, collaborative in fast-paced environments.
• Real-time problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Site prep and maintenance for commercial and residential sites.
• Site improvements and land/hardscape replacements as needed.
• Material handling across sites.
• Manual labor with minimal supervision.
• Install and manage temporary structures like scaffolding and signage.
• Operate machinery including forklifts, skid steers, lull, and rental equipment.
• Operate pumps, generators, shop vacs, and power tools.
• Assist with demolition and debris removal.
• Perform handyman tasks in carpentry, painting, caulking, electrical, and plumbing.
• Record daily assignments for progress reporting.
• Maintain shop tools and equipment.
• Uphold OSHA safety guidelines on all sites.
