Job summary

Superior, based in Columbus, is seeking a Project Manager to lead electrical construction projects across the Midwest. You will manage schedules, budgets, and field coordination with the Superintendent and Foremen to ensure project progress and on-time completion.

The role requires at least 4 years in project operations within commercial construction; preferred bachelor’s degree in relevant field or CM certificate; travel and temporary relocation may be required.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of project operations/PM experience in commercial construction or equivalent field operations management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Systems Management, Engineering, or related field; Construction Management certificate preferred.
  • Experience with design-build, hard bid, and negotiated projects around $5M to $50M.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction management software.
  • Active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Mitigate and manage project risk, escalate concerns to leadership with proposed solutions.
  • Create and manage the full project schedule from kickoff to closeout.
  • Manage all project finance requirements including billings, setup, cost control, and change orders.
  • Earn client trust through clear communication, collaboration, and problem solving.
  • Chair project meetings with planning, progress updates, and customer reviews.
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure materials are available as needed.
  • Provide leadership and clear guidance to all team members.
  • Understand and negotiate changes to project contracts and scope.
  • Review estimates, design drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Ensure timely completion of all job closeout procedures and maintain safety.

Pay Range: $165,000 – $230,000*

Superior is looking for a Project Manager to help drive our electrical construction projects forward. The Project Manager is responsible for managing construction projects, scheduling resources, ensuring that budgets and timelines are met, and working closely with the Superintendent and Foremen to ensure the successful progress and completion of the project.

This role will begin on a jobsite in the Midwest, with the opportunity to support future projects in other markets as business needs evolve.


This role requires flexibility and willingness to travel and temporarily reside near project sites for extended project assignments. Potential jobsite locations may include Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, and/or Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities



  • Mitigate and manage project risk, and elevate concerns – and solutions – quickly to Project Operations and Field Operations leadership

  • Create and manage the full project schedule from project kickoff to project closeout

  • Manage all project finance requirements, including billings, project setup, project buy-out, project cost control, change order management, and cost to complete

  • Earn the trust of clients by cultivating relationships, communicating swiftly, collaborating, and solving challenges

  • Chair project meetings including planning, progress updates, and reviews with customers

  • Work with departments across the organization to ensure that project materials are available and in place as needed

  • Serve as a key leader and provide clear communication and guidance to all team members

  • Understand the full scope of the project contract and negotiate changes as needed

  • Review all project documents including estimates, design drawings, specifications, and contracts

  • Ensure the timely completion of all job closeout procedures

  • Maintain a high degree of safety on our work across the jobsite


Your Expertise



  • Required: You have at least 4 years of project operations/project management experience in commercial construction, or equivalent field operations management experience

  • Bonus Points: You have earned a bachelor’s degree in Construction Systems Management, Engineering, or a related field; a Construction Management certificate; or have equivalent field or project experience on a commercial construction site

  • Bonus Points: You have experience with design-build, hard bid, and negotiated projects around $5M to $50M

  • Bonus Points: You have extensive knowledge in construction management software

  • Bonus Points: You hold an active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
