This position involves travel, and applicants must live within a two-hour radius from one of our offices located in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Tennessee.

In this position, you will travel 100% of the time to work on multiple high-profile projects such as transportation, commercial buildings, wind farms, and more in many geographical areas. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys traveling, working on various high-profile projects, and who is looking to take their construction material testing career to the next level.

General Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
• Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor’s representatives, and others regarding project requirements and testing results.
• Transport material samples with documentation to the laboratory for testing and analysis.
• Prepare and submit data and observations in reports, both written and digital.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

• Travel to and from assigned projects.
• Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed.
• Document findings and results clearly.
• Analyze data for accuracy before submission.
• Communicate findings to the Project Manager.
• Possess experience and proficiency in multiple testing areas.
• May train lower-level technicians or lead activities.
• Maintain equipment and calibration.
• Follow safety rules and report issues.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.

Requirements

• 100% travel required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Certifications

• ACI certifications such as Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I or Concrete Strength Testing Technician.
• Certification in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
• AWS CWI or ASNT Level II in nondestructive testing.
• Relevant certification for project-specific services.

Preferred Certifications

• NICET Level II in Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical categories.
• ICC certifications in multiple categories.
• Additional national, regional, or state certifications.

The salary range is $21.75 - $30.25 per hour, adjusted by location and experience.
