Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Commercial Concrete Finisher to read drawings, set and finish concrete forms, and assist with placing concrete on site. You will work with a team to build forms for floors, walls, and structural elements, ensuring elevations and alignment meet specifications.

The role requires careful attention to detail, good communication with foremen, and strict adherence to safety policies while supporting concrete placement and formwork tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand drawings and prints.
• Build and/or assemble wood or metal forms for concrete floors, slabs, walls, columns, etc.
• Set and place forms to proper elevations and locations; may assist with reinforcing steel.
• Set and erect forms using various materials and forming systems, primarily symon forms.
• Verify accuracy of structures using basic measurement tools.
• Communicate safety hazards and material needs with supervisors.
• Assist with placement of concrete as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and prints.
• Build and assemble wood or metal forms for concrete structures.
• Set forms to correct elevations and locations; assist with reinforcing steel as needed.
• Erect forms using a variety of materials, primarily symon forms.
• Verify accuracy with plumb bob, level, or laser.
• Maintain safe operating conditions for equipment and site.
• Coordinate with foreman or project manager on issues and materials.
