Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation is seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning activities from installation through system turnover on critical data center projects across the United States.

The role requires coordinating with project Managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and third-party commissioning agents, managing commissioning plans and schedules, and ensuring thorough testing, documentation, and turnover while travel to project sites is

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commissioning, MEP construction, or related field.
• Experience with mission-critical or data center projects strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience supporting system startup, testing, and turnover processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and commissioning plans.
• Strong coordination and communication skills across multiple teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel for project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning efforts from preconstruction through final turnover, ensuring alignment with project schedule and milestones.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and third-party commissioning agents.
• Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, and system turnover strategies.
• Track installation progress and readiness for testing, energization, and startup.
• Oversee execution of commissioning activities across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Support Level 1-5 commissioning processes and ensure proper documentation and system validation.
• Identify and resolve issues impacting system startup, testing, or turnover.
• Coordinate system walkdowns, punch list completion, and closeout documentation.
• Maintain communication with clients, engineers, and commissioning teams regarding system readiness and performance.
