Job summary

Modern Construction Services is seeking a Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead on-site operations across nationwide projects. This role is an independent contractor (1099) with a clear path to full-time employment and travel home every three weeks.

You will manage site safety, coordinate trades, maintain a three-week look-ahead, and drive projects to turnover. A strong track record, safety leadership, and proficiency with Procore and MS Project are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Five or more years as a superintendent in commercial construction.
• Track record of running commercial projects independently, from start to finish.
• Strong command of construction safety standards and subcontractor management.
• Proficiency in Procore/InGenious and Microsoft Project.
• Clear communication and strong organization, in writing and in person.
• The ability and willingness to travel, with extended stays at project sites.

Responsibilities

• On-site management: run daily construction activity per contract drawings, specs, and project docs.
• Coordinate subcontractors and trade partners: orientation, scheduling, performance oversight.
• Enforce safety: conduct subcontractor safety orientations and daily protocol enforcement.
• Inspect installations and ensure they meet required standards before acceptance.
• Build and maintain the three-week look-ahead schedule and manage the overall schedule.
• Coordinate deliveries, inspections, and milestones to prevent stalls.
• Run punch list and lead trade partners through final inspections and closeout.
