Job summary

CleanSpace in Ferndale, MI is seeking an experienced HVAC lead technician to supervise troubleshooting, repairs, and installations across commercial multi-zone systems. You will create modification plans, guide junior technicians, and manage material estimates.

You will read blueprints, ensure safety, and coordinate work with campus central control systems. A Journeyman license and EPA certification are required, with willingness to travel to various sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of trades experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Possession of a Journeyman refrigeration license (JR) and an EPA Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification.
• Degree(s) from an accredited institution above minimum education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Leads lower-level HVAC technicians in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of commercial systems with various controls.
• Develops modification plans and estimates for remodel activities.
• Creates preventive maintenance checklists for new equipment.
• Interprets as-built blueprints and recommends system modifications.
• Researches and selects materials for HVAC installation and maintenance.
• Ensures safety and environmental practices are followed.
• Estimates jobs, layouts, and material requirements.
• Interprets structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
• Troubleshoots and repairs commercial multi-zone systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
