Job summary

KTA-Tator, Inc. is seeking full-time Traveling Commercial Building Inspectors to perform field inspections of retail stores across the United States.

This role blends fieldwork with home-office tasks, typically involving two-week travel rotations and occasional longer trips. The candidates should have a degree in Building Construction or related field (AMPP coatings credentials preferred), and be comfortable traveling ~70% of the time.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction or related field preferred.
• AMPP Basic coatings credentials preferred.
• Ability to travel extensively ~70% of the time (about 2-week rotations).
• Experience with insurance property inspections or roof inspections is transferable.
• Experience reading, interpreting and editing drawings using construction software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections of retail buildings nationwide before, during and after remodels.
• Perform comprehensive building condition assessments and document findings.
• Interact with store managers and contractors; complete QA reports.
• Evaluate building envelope for design or construction issues.
