Job summary

The Building People, LLC, has a full-time Building Controls Technician - Travel Team opening to support projects at customer sites across the region. This junior role conducts existing conditions site visits, documents field findings, and assists with installation, startup, programming, and verification of Tridium-based BAS.

You will work under supervision of senior technicians and engineers, travel regularly, and contribute to field documentation, testing, and customer coordination while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
• Experience with field surveys, equipment documentation, or service documentation preferred.
• Exposure to Tridium/Niagara, BAS platforms, or related building systems is helpful.
• Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites and meet travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to perform existing conditions assessments of building controls infrastructure.
• Document field conditions through notes, photographs, and inventories.
• Assist with installation, startup, and commissioning support for Tridium/Niagara BAS.
• Support basic programming, graphics, schedules, alarms, trends, and point mapping.
• Perform point-to-point verification and functional testing during project delivery.
• Troubleshoot building controls hardware, wiring, and network issues in the field.
• Coordinate with team members and customers to support field work and schedules.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and site records.
• Follow safety, cybersecurity, and site procedures in active facilities.
• Participate in hands-on training to build skills in controls and field service best practices.
