Job summary

PUSH, Inc. is seeking a Traveling Backhoe Operator- Utility Construction to safely operate backhoe, mini excavator, cable plow, and track hoe to install fiber, copper, and power cables, and possibly sewer or water facilities.

Field experience with digging around utilities is required, in rural and urban settings, reading prints and schematics. You will train and mentor teammates, assist with basic labor, and travel for extended periods; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • Field experience with digging operations around utilities in rural and urban areas.
  • Ability to read prints and schematics related to utility installations.
  • Experience operating utility construction equipment (backhoe, mini excavator, cable plow, track hoe).
  • Willingness to train and mentor other operators and work as a team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate backhoe and other heavy equipment safely to install cables and utilities.
  • Perform routine maintenance on construction equipment and tools.
  • Assist with labor tasks such as potholing, pedestal setting, and conduit placement.
  • Travel for extended periods and work outdoors in all weather.
  • Provide training and assistance to coworkers learning to operate equipment.
