Job summary

HC Company, Inc. is seeking a motivated traveling Assistant Superintendent to support project teams across our commercial construction portfolio.

This role offers hands-on leadership experience, traveling to project sites, assisting senior superintendents, and ensuring successful project execution. Ideal candidates have a construction background, 3–5 years in commercial construction, and a desire to grow into a Superintendent role.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
• 3–5 years commercial construction experience with at least 1 year in a lead role.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project and MS Office.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Desire to grow into a Superintendent role.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in coordinating all on-site construction activities.
• Support QA/QC by reviewing installations and verifying materials meet project specifications.
• Help develop and update project schedules, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Assist in site planning, staging, and phasing for efficient project delivery.
• Monitor and enforce safety standards, participating in safety meetings and audits.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers regarding deliveries, logistics, and scheduling.
• Support in tracking RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
• Ensure as-built drawings and reports are kept current under the direction of the Superintendent.
• Build strong relationships with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
• Actively participate in the Safety Committee and promote HC Company's culture of safety.

What We're Looking For

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, or equivalent field experience preferred
• 3-5 years of commercial construction experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role
• Familiarity with project management and scheduling software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, MS Office)
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Understanding of construction means and methods, trade coordination, and safety requirements
• A desire to learn, grow, and transition into a Superintendent role with HC Company
