Position Summary:

National OnDemand, Inc. is a communications and utilities infrastructure provider delivering service solutions to the Fiber, Wireless, Energy, and Technology sectors in the United States. Headquartered in Burlington, North Carolina, the company provides full turnkey infrastructure solutions on demand across its service footprint, maintaining its market position through successful mergers, acquisitions, and steady organic growth.

Primary Position Duties:
  • Operate bucket trucks and other equipment related to aerial fiber construction.
  • Set up job sites efficiently, including strand trailers, fiber trailers, and caddies.
  • Understand utility clearances from other utilities, ground, roads, highways, sidewalks, and non-pedestrian areas.
  • Properly frame poles according to industry specifications.
  • Lash and over-lash single and multiple fiber cable bundles.
  • Read and interpret network prints.
  • Safely climb poles using gaffs or ladders.
  • Follow OSHA safety requirements to complete jobs safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate frequently by phone throughout the workday.
  • Follow specific instructions from the crew leader.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:

The physical demands for this role include working primarily in the field, outdoors in various weather conditions, and exposure to dust, temperature fluctuations, and noise. Employees must use hands and fingers to handle objects and operate tools, frequently stand, talk, and hear.

Travel:

  • Travel to other project sites in different states may be required to assist with new project start-ups.
  • Travel periods may last up to 28 days.
Education or Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training and/or relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience; construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends if necessary.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to pass drug, background, DOT, and MVR screenings.
