Description

Utility Lines Construction Services is hiring for the position of Overhead Distribution A Lineperson. The role involves installing and repairing overhead distribution and transmission systems, including poles, cables, and electrical systems. Line Workers also handle underground cables and electrical equipment maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Setting poles and anchors, stringing overhead wire
  • Installing transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear
  • Performing construction, maintenance, or repair work on energized and de-energized overhead lines, adhering to safety rules
  • Troubleshooting primary and secondary system issues
  • Replacing cutout fuses and clearing faulted circuits
  • Testing and inspecting tools and equipment daily for safety and efficiency
  • Reporting injuries, near misses, and safety concerns
  • Other duties related to overhead power supply installation as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment
  • Problem-solving skills for unforeseen circumstances
  • Experience working with high voltage energized systems
  • Ability to climb structures and use climbing tools
  • Proficiency with required tools and equipment (e.g., bucket truck, digger derrick, tensioners, puller, etc.)
Education and Experience
  • At least 4 years of electrical linework experience
  • Ability to provide proof of work experience, schooling, and certifications
Traveling Requirements
  • Willingness to travel out of state for storm work
Driver License
  • Valid Driver’s License preferred; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain within 90 days
Safety and Physical Requirements
  • Must meet eyesight and physical endurance standards for hazardous work
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and wear PPE
  • Ability to perform physical tasks throughout an 8-10 hour shift
