Job summary

NextEra Energy, a leading wind power operator, is seeking a traveling Wind Field Service Technician. The role focuses on safe field-based maintenance, diagnostics, and long-term turbine reliability across multiple sites.

The position requires 100% travel within the area, with training steps within 6–12 months and strength in teamwork. Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, and an Associate’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to climb wind turbines up to 300 feet.
• Requires 0+ years experience; valid driver’s license (non CDL).
• Post-offer Functional Capacity Eval is required.
• Relocation not specified; Associate’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively within the company fleet to perform wind turbine maintenance and repair.
• Perform electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting on wind generation equipment.
• Maintain all company equipment, facilities, and tooling.
• Complete Safety Mentor training within 6 months of hire and the III training within the first year.
• Collaborate with internal NextEra users on maintenance improvements and financial performance.
• Support site manager with safety, environmental reporting, and turbine availability.
