Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist for a Level I Trauma Center in New Haven, CT. The role requires 2+ years of specialty experience with ARDMS certification and travel availability.

The tech will perform general and vascular ultrasound across adult, ED, ICU, and portable settings, with PACS and Philips equipment, Epic EMR usage, and a demanding schedule. Travel experience and references are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of specialty ultrasound experience (1.5 years accepted with Level I trauma or travel)
• ARDMS certification required; ARDMS AB, ARDMS OB/GYN, and ARDMS RVT preferred
• BLS preferred
• Adult, ED, ICU, and portable ultrasound experience
• PACS experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Travel experience required
• 1 professional reference required
• License required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Level I Trauma Center, short term acute care hospital with 1,567 staffed beds
• Ultrasound Tech - General/Vascular unit
• Adult, Emergency Department, ICU, and portable exam settings
• Performs general ultrasound including abdominal, OB/GYN, renal/pelvis, and small parts imaging
• Performs vascular studies including carotid, arterial/venous duplex, dialysis grafts, and renal artery duplex
• Uses PACS and Philips ultrasound equipment
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Weekly schedule includes Tue-Thu 1p-9:30p, Fri 8a-4:30p, and Sat 7a-3:30p
• Performs vascular, abdominal, OB/GYN, renal, and small parts ultrasound studies across adult, ED, ICU, and portable settings
• Teal scrub color required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine/booster required with religious or medical exemptions only
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Local candidates not accepted if within 75 miles of the facility
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
