Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a General Ultrasound Technologist for a night shift at a Magnet-designated Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital in Charleston, SC. The role requires proficiency in abdominal Doppler imaging and transplant studies, with responsibilities across multiple locations.

The position offers 4x10 hour night blocks (Mon-Thu, 8:00 PM–6:30 AM) with no on-call, and travel housing and licensure support. Epic, PACS, Philips and Siemens experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience.
• Proficient in abdominal Doppler imaging and transplant studies.
• BLS certification is required.
• ARDMS or ARRT (S) certification is required.
• ARDMS AB, ARDMS OB/GYN, and RDCS/RVT certifications are preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Responsibilities

• General Ultrasound Tech duties within a teaching hospital setting.
• Handle a varied daily caseload across Main and ART locations.
• Perform abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, small parts, and transplant studies (liver, pancreas, pediatric, renal).
• Use Epic charting system; operate PACS, Philips, and Siemens equipment.
• Work 4x10 hour night shifts (Mon-Thu, 8:00 PM–6:30 AM).
• Possibility of emergency response duties during hurricane season.

American Traveler is hiring a General Ultrasound Technologist for a teaching hospital's night shift role requiring proficiency in abdominal doppler imaging and transplant studies.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Must be proficient in abdominal doppler imaging and transplant studies
• BLS certification required
• ARDMS or ARRT (S) certification required
• Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• SC state ultrasound license required if applicable
• Epic experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

• General ultrasound position working between Main and ART facility locations
• 4x10 hour night shifts, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• No on-call requirement
• Will float between Main and ART locations within scope
• Caseload varies by day
• Works with adult patients across Emergency Department, ICU, and portable imaging settings
• Performs vascular studies including aorta, color flow, doppler studies, and renal artery duplex
• Performs abdominal imaging including liver, pancreas, spleen, gallbladder, and transplant studies
• Performs renal/pelvis, bladder, ovaries, prostate, uterus, and vaginal ultrasound studies
• Performs OB/GYN including 1st trimester studies
• Uses PACS, Philips, and Siemens equipment
• Charting performed in Epic
• Teaching hospital with Magnet designation and Level 1 Trauma status
• 865 staffed beds
• Scrub colors are teal tops and black bottoms
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Previous MUSC perm staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration and is subject to facility approval
• Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
