Job summary

Milwaukee County Transit System invites applications for a Travel Trainer – Part Time. The role provides one-on-one training to older adults and individuals with disabilities on safe use of public transportation, with group outreach and program support.

Hours vary seasonally and range from 15–25 hours per week, reporting to the Mobility Manager. The ideal candidate has related education/experience (OT/SW/PT/Ed/Special Ed) and a valid Wisconsin driver's license, plus knowledge of routes and ADA

Qualifications

Education or experience in OT, SW, PT, Education, or Special Education.
Recent knowledge of MCTS routes, schedules, and fares.
Valid Wisconsin Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one training on safe public transportation use.
Motivate clients to achieve independent travel goals.
Gathers demographic and general client information and enters data into the database.
Uses data for marketing to reach more potential clients.
Prepares and conducts group presentations, individualized travel planning and route planning.
Coordinates and provides securement training for mobility devices.
Provides sensitivity training for operators, instructors, dispatch, etc.
Delivers community outreach presentations and participates in resource fairs.
Promotes upcoming events.
Performs special projects and other duties as required.
