Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a Community Integration Specialist to support students with disabilities in developing travel skills for independent community travel. This full‑time exempt role reports to the Manager, Academic Access and collaborates with OSD and DRS to assist in planning and execution of travel training activities.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years working with individuals with disabilities, strong communication abilities, and experience coordinating

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities in educational settings.
• Experience collaborating and communicating with community partners and families.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized travel training and instruction to students with disabilities for utilizing public transportation.
• Conduct pre- and post-travel training assessments to determine candidacy and readiness.
• Develop instructional plans and behavioral tasks to evaluate readiness for independent travel.
• Maintain documentation of student progress using department tools.
