The position is full-time, exempt, with salary-based pay and opportunities to lead professional development and collaborate with DHS, ISBE, and district staff to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Rehabilitation Services, Counseling, or related field, required.
• Valid teaching certificate/Professional Educator’s License (PEL) with LBSI/LBS-II endorsements, preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years educational work and/or social service experience is required.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, and/or American Sign Language, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support transition services and monitor progress toward post-secondary outcomes.
• Coordinate with DHS counselors to support DRS referrals.
• Lead professional development for school staff on transition practices.
• Collaborate with community partners to expand post-school options.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Education/related field

Master’s degree in Transition Special Education or Rehabilitation Counseling
