Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a 13-week assignment in a critical access hospital surgical department in California. The role requires at least 1 year of OR experience and BLS certification, with on-call duties and varied 12-hour shifts.

You will scrub for various procedures, maintain a sterile field, anticipate equipment needs, and assist with charting. Housing or travel support may be provided by the agency.

Qualifications

• 1 year of OR experience or completion of Surgical Technician training.
• BLS certification required.
• State license required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• 13-week assignment in a critical access hospital surgical department.
• Varied 12-hour day/evening shifts; on-call duties.
• Create and maintain a sterile field, inspecting items for contamination before use.
• Anticipate equipment and supply needs before procedures begin.
• Scrub for a variety of surgical procedures, adapting to surgeon preferences and techniques.
• Assist RN with operative charting and documentation of hardware used during procedures.
