Qualifications

• Two years minimum of total surgical tech experience

Role Responsibilities

Surgical techs are an integral part of a hospital's healthcare team, acting as a surgeon's right hand. They prepare surgical equipment and assist surgeons and surgical teams before, during, and after procedures. Responsibilities may include coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accurate reports, and providing individualized, non-discriminatory care to patients, families, and staff.

Requirements for Application

Candidates must have an active certification from the NBSTSA or NCCSA or ABSA, or at least 10 years of surgical tech experience if uncertified. Evidence of at least one year of experience as an Adult Cardiothoracic surgical tech or first assistant, within the past three years, is required. Graduates from accredited programs and scoring 80% or higher on Nomad competency exams are preferred.
