Job summary

American Traveler in Wisconsin is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time operating room position with weekend call rotation and BLS certification required.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–5:30 pm, with weekend call Friday 7:00 am through Monday 7:00 am. You will prepare the operating room, pass instruments, maintain a sterile environment, assist the surgeon, and help with counts and turnover between cases.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
• 1+ years of related work experience preferred.
• License required if applicable.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Responsibilities

• Full-time schedule, Mon–Fri, 7am–5:30pm.
• Weekend call rotation Fri 7am–Mon 7am with 15-minute response time.
• Prepare the operating room, set up sterile field, equipment, supplies and solutions.
• Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
• Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment.
• Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator.
• Keep records of Steam Sterilizer use.
• Keep suture carts organized and monitor expiration dates.
• Turn over operating rooms between cases.
• Assist team members with gowning and gloving.
• Assist with patient positioning and transport.
