American Traveler is seeking an OB Technician for a Labor and Delivery unit. The role requires surgical technology training and OB tech experience, with night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.

The unit operates on a 36-hour week across three 12-hour shifts. Qualifications include BLS and CST certifications, completion of a Surgical Technology Program or Surgical Tech Apprentice Program, and at least one year of OR or OB tech experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technology Program or Surgical Tech Apprentice Program required.
• BLS and CST certifications required.
• One year of experience as surgical tech or OB tech required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system, and aseptic technique required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit
• Night shift from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, every other weekend per unit
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Assists with vaginal and cesarean deliveries under supervision of physicians and RNs
• Assist in setting up the operating room and preparing/transporting patients for surgery
• Adjust lights and equipment during procedures
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgeon's assistants
• Hold retractors and assist with counting sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments
• Apply aseptic technique and knowledge of medical terminology during all patient and family interactions
