American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Birthing Pavilion position at a small critical access hospital, requiring OBGYN surgical experience.

The role includes 12-hour PM-AM shifts, 36 hours per week, and a light after-hours call with no trauma coverage. You must reside outside a 75-mile radius and obtain the NH Medical Technician license within 48 hours of acceptance.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required for all candidates.
• Recent Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years.
• Surgical Assistant license is required if applicable.
• Knowledge of OBGYN procedures including Cesarean Section and Hysterectomy.
• Basic understanding of Labor and Delivery unit workflow and supply needs.
• Ability to scrub basic cases with minimal supervision.

Responsabilités

• Work in a Birthing Pavilion with two ORs and one endoscopy suite.
• Handle OBGYN surgical cases including Cesarean Section and Hysterectomy.
• Work 12-hour PM-AM shifts with day/night rotation and 36 weekly hours.
• Light call schedule for emergent cases after training; no trauma call.
• Apply for NH Medical Technician license within 48 hours of acceptance.
• Maintain sterile field and prepare instruments for procedures.
• Run the surgical back table and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Set up rooms per AST standards; clean and prep rooms before/after procedures.
• Perform chemical/biological monitoring per sterilization protocols.
• Complete OR counts accurately and report discrepancies.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping.
• Interact professionally with patients and families.
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility.

• OBGYN surgical population, including Cesarean Section and Hysterectomy cases
• 12-hour PM-AM shifts with day/night rotation only
• 36 weekly hours
• Light call schedule for emergent cases only after training, no trauma call
• Must apply for NH Medical Technician license within 48 hours of acceptance
• Maintain sterile field and organize/prepare instruments for surgical procedures
• Run and maintain the surgical back table while anticipating surgeon needs
• Set up rooms and adhere to AST standards and procedures
• Clean and prepare rooms before and after proceduresPerform chemical and biological monitoring per steam sterilization protocols
• Accurately complete operating room counts and report discrepancies to the Circulating RN and surgeon
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping for surgical procedures
• Interact professionally with patients and families, providing reassurance as needed
