Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist for a sports medicine ambulatory surgery center, requiring proficiency in arthroscopic procedures including ACL reconstructions.

Details

• Ambulatory surgery center specializing in sports medicine orthopedic and podiatric procedures
• Case types include arthroscopies of the knee, hip, shoulder, ankle, and wrist, along with total shoulders, total ankles, foot and ankle cases, and hand procedures
• ACL reconstruction is the most common procedure performed
• Does not perform total knees, total hips, or spine cases
• Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Schedule is built in 6-week blocks with rotating days off assigned by the charge nurse
• No on-call requirement beyond completing assigned cases for the day
• No floating required within the service line
• Scrubs provided

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Prior travel assignment experience strongly preferred
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• State license required if applicable (DORA)
• Proficiency scrubbing arthroscopic and sports medicine procedures, particularly ACL surgeries
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills checklist rating of 3 or 4 required for arthroscopic procedures
• Experience with scope and fiber optic equipment care, case carts, cell savers, crash carts, drills, and electrosurgical units

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates who previously completed a full year on assignment with this OR must wait at least one year before rebooking
• Candidates who have applied to this health system's internal travel jobs or perm staff within the last two years will not be considered
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during select weeks in the summer, fall, and winter holiday seasons
• Completion of all facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility may be considered

Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
