Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital General Surgery unit in Santa Fe, NM. The role requires BLS certification and CST or LVN/LPN licensure, with 2+ years of experience preferred.

Shifts are 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, 5 days a week, with weekend and on-call requirements. EPIC EMR is used; 13‑week assignment with 1 opening.

Qualifications

• BLS certification via AHA required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential or LVN/LPN license required; license if applicable.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program required.
• 2+ years of experience preferred.
• Proficiency scrubbing 3 specialty areas such as Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, or Robotics highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients, including skin prep and patient positioning.
• Maintain aseptic technique and monitor for potential breaches throughout procedures.
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite.
• Establish and maintain the sterile field, passing instruments and sutures to the physician as directed.
• Use and maintain physician preference cards when pulling cases and setting up the OR.
• Work collaboratively as part of the surgical team under the direction of a professional nurse.
• Maintain proper traffic control, dress code, and adherence to OR sanitation policies.
• Identify and care for biological specimens according to hospital standards.
• Adapt care methods to meet population-specific and developmental needs of patients served.
• Returning employees who previously worked at any CHRISTUS facility must be separated for at least 6 months prior to starting a new travel assignment.
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies for local candidate consideration.
