• Support surgeon and RN to maintain sterile field and equipment.
• Prepare case carts and procure necessary instruments and supplies.
• Coordinate instrumentation with OR and sterile processing staff.

Responsibilities

• Hospital operating room setting functioning in the scrub role
• May float to Labor & Delivery as needed
• Shifts range from 10 to 12 hours depending on departmental needs
• 13-week contract assignment
• Works under the supervision of the surgeon and RN to maintain a safe OR environment and ensure proper equipment function
• Responsible for preparing case carts according to preference cards and procuring necessary instruments and supplies
• Communicates with OR and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation for scheduled and non-scheduled cases
• Reviews daily schedules with charge nurse and sterile processing coordinator to identify turnover delays or scheduling issues
• Manages core phone communications and coordinates staff breaks and lunches
• Serves as a resource for sterile processing and surgical services departments regarding supply and instrument procurement
• Coordinates with materials management regarding supply utilization
• Candidates must reside at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered
