Qualifications

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with CVOR experience for a 3x12hr day shift hospital operating room position.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Tech experience
• At least 1 year of scrubbing experience with cardiovascular (CV) experience required
• At least 1 year of CV experience as a Surgical Tech required
• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred
• Colorado license (DORA) required if applicable
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required and must not expire prior to start
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past 6 months, or 2 years of scrub tech experience in a hospital or military surgical setting within the last 3 years
• Ability to maintain a sterile field and ensure environmental safety
• Ability to recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes
• Ability to respond appropriately in emergency and life support situations

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeons during procedures while remaining within ORT scope of practice
• Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure
• May assist with sterile processing duties
• Participates in the surgical operations safety plan
• Candidates must provide date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration
• Permanent staff must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
