American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist/ORT for a CVOR position at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• BLS certification required
• NCCT or NBSTSA certification preferred
• License required if applicable
• Level II Trauma experience required
• Level I Trauma, teaching hospital, and community hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in vascular and cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique, sterilization, and universal protocol/time out procedures

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting in the CVOR department
• Level II Trauma facility with Magnet designation
• Performs cardiovascular and vascular procedures including CABG, TAVR, EVAR/TEVAR, carotid endarterectomy, and various bypass and repair surgeries
• Utilizes Epic charting system
• 4x10 day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• On-call responsibilities required, including weekend call coverage
• No floating within scope required for this facility
• Support surgical teams during complex cardiovascular and vascular procedures
• Maintain sterile fields and ensure proper instrument and equipment handling
• Follow infection control, radiation safety, and PPE protocols
• Assist with specimen handling, labeling, and wound care as needed
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period
• Only one time-off request permitted per 13-week assignment, approved individually upon offer
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
