Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a broad surgical background and preceptor capability for a hospital OR position with travel experience.

Positions include General, GYN, Vascular, Thoracic, Orthopedic, Neuro/Head/Spine, and Trauma, with on-call requirements. A firm vehicle, licenses, and CST references are needed for consideration.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of current CST experience.
• NBSTSA certification required (NCCT not accepted).
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Prior travel experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered.
• Experience across General, GYN, Vascular, Thoracic, Orthopedic, Neuro/Head/Spine, and Trauma surgical specialties required.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be available and willing to take call.
• Must have a personal vehicle — this is a firm requirement.
• Ability to precept other staff is required.
• License required if applicable.
• 2 supervisory signed references from within the past 2 years of employment required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Five 8-hour shifts per week — 10/12-hour shift schedules are not available for this position.
• On-call availability is required.
• Surgical specialties include General, GYN, Vascular, Thoracic, Orthopedics (including total joints), Neuro/Head/Spine, and Trauma.
• C-Section, ENT, Plastics, and DaVinci Robot experience are preferred.
• Meditech Expanse EMR experience is highly preferred.
• Candidates must be able to precept staff as part of their role.
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — scheduling requests will not be approved at or after the time of offer or interview, and late requests may result in a rescinded offer.
• No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested.
• A current (within 1 year) CST skills checklist is required for consideration.
• Copies of all certifications must be included with the candidate profile.
