Job description

Role:

Travel Speech Language Pathologist in an acute care hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, administer speech therapy interventions, perform bedside swallow evaluations, Modified Barium Swallow Studies, FEES, and utilize adaptive communication devices. Communicate effectively with healthcare teams, document treatments accurately, educate patients and families, and promote interdisciplinary teamwork. Provide coverage for weekdays and on-call rotations, with some holiday duty.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's or Doctoral from an accredited program


• Current Texas state licensure or pending license accepted


• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist


• Experience with dysphagia, FEES, Modified Barium Swallow Studies, trach/vent, and laryngectomy care preferred


• Knowledge of neurogenic disorders, communication devices, and healthcare documentation systems


• BLS certification preferred

Key Duties:

Provide speech-language therapy in an acute care environment for adult patients with neurological and communication disorders, ensuring quality care, accurate documentation, and effective team communication. Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
