California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) seeks a Senior Accounting Officer, Specialist in the Financial Reporting and Accounting Services Division, Travel Unit. The role manages travel-related reimbursements, prepares reports, and ensures TREK compliance.

This position requires onsite work five days a week in Sacramento, CA. The incumbent audits relocation and travel expense claims for employees, board members, and retirees, and oversees policies and TREK training.

Responsibilities

• Process the most complex TECs for Board Members, Executives, employees, and partnership reimbursed travel.
• Prepare internal, external, and board reports tracking and monitoring status of travel expense claims and expenditures.
• Code and record daily deposits, respond to inquiries and PRA requests.
• Serve as subject matter expert for travel rules, regulations, and the Travel Request and Expense Claim (TREK) system.
• Prepare and update travel policies, procedures, guidelines, and TREK user guides.
• Perform UAT testing on TREK releases and provide TREK training to staff.

Position Summary

CalPERS seeks a Senior Accounting Officer, Specialist in the Financial Reporting and Accounting Services Division, Travel Unit. The position is responsible for all aspects of processing and reimbursing administrative revolving fund account advances and payments, including, but not limited to, payment, recording, reporting, and reconciliation of travel, training, salary, and miscellaneous expenses, accounts receivables, and payroll. The role audits relocation and travel expense claims and other reimbursement requests from employees, board members, and retirees.
Telework Information: This position requires full-time attendance in the office, working onsite five days per week.
