Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a full-time, 14-week assignment. The role requires an active NBRC RRT, state license, BLS, and either an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Minimum 1 year of clinical respiratory care experience is preferred. The position is day shift with no benefits; Sentara offers a range of education and family support benefits per the hospital’s program.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree required.
• Non degreed applicants with RRT credentials prior to January 1, 2006 and graduates from a military RT program with RRT credentials will also be considered.
• State license, active NBRC RRT and BLS required at time of hire. For new graduates only, must have State license and BLS at time of hire, and must obtain NBRC RRT within 6 months of hire date.
• 1 year of clinical respiratory care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement physician-directed respiratory care interventions for individuals or groups.
• Collaborate with nursing and other health care team members for respiratory care across ages from neonates to adults.
• Perform age-appropriate assessment and treatment of patients per respiratory care protocols.
• Maintain compliance with PHI and regulatory requirements as applicable.
