American Traveler is hiring an RN First Assist for a Perioperative Services role requiring certified FA credentials and at least one year of post-training experience.

The position operates in a hospital OR with six major rooms, providing FA support across OB, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Podiatry. Monday–Friday 0700–1500 with on-call weekends; travel-friendly housing and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in AZ or Compact
• Certified Surgical First Assistant (FA) certification
• AHA certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of post-training experience
• Successful completion of a surgical FA training program
• Skillset to assist with OB, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Podiatry procedures

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical first assist support for OB, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Podiatry cases
• Work in the Operating Room/Perioperative Services department of a hospital with six major operating rooms
• No pediatric or neonatal patient population
• Standard interoperative care team ratios and equipment
• Uses MedHost EHR
• Mon-Fri 0700-1500 schedule; weekends on call
• Participates in a regular call rotation with ST
• Assist the surgical team across a variety of specialties including OB, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Podiatry
• Must wear facility-provided surgical attire in surgical areas
• Maintain a professional and pleasant demeanor
• Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis
