MedPro Healthcare Staffing in Fort Walton Beach, FL seeks a travel RN First Assist to join a perioperative team for a 13-week assignment. You will work 36 hours per week, on 12-hour day shifts, with travel benefits and housing options.

Requirements include 18 months perioperative RN experience, RN license, RNFA training per AORN standards, and BLS/ACLS/CNOR certifications. The role offers weekly pay, credentialing fee coverage, private housing or housing allowance, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Perioperative Nursing practice as both a scrub and circulating nurse.
• Active RN License.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Successful RNFA program completion meeting AORN education standards.
• BLS, ACLS, CNOR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon by performing technical functions during surgery, including intra-operative retraction, hemostasis, tissue manipulation, and wound closure.
• Provide direct patient care as part of the perioperative role, acting as first assistant to the surgeon during operative procedures.
• The RNFA will perform first assisting under the direct supervision of the primary surgeon.
• Communicate any patient care issues verbally to the surgeon.
