American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of current experience and an active KY or compact RN license.

The role covers a 34-bed Stepdown/PCU unit with 1:5 patient ratios, night rotation 19:00-07:30, and 84 hours every two weeks. Meditech EMR experience is preferred. Travel housing and licensure reimbursements apply.

Qualifications

• Active KY or compact RN license required.
• Current Stepdown/PCU experience (2+ years) required.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• AVADE Level I & II preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in a 34-bed Stepdown/PCU unit.
• Maintain 1:5 patient ratios and monitor telemetry.
• Night shift 19:00–07:30 with rotating 3x12 and 4x12 schedules.
• 84 hours per two weeks; travel orientation as scheduled.
• Handle central lines, PICC lines and cardiac drips as needed.

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of current experience and an active KY or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license in hand required
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• AVADE Level I & II certification preferred
• 2+ years of current Stepdown/PCU experience required
• 3-6 months of Level IV Trauma or above experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required, with medical and religious exemptions considered case-by-case; declinations not accepted
• Valid driver's license matching permanent address required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one Charge or higher and one Supervisor, both completed within the last year

Responsibilities

• 34-bed Stepdown/PCU unit
• 1:5 patient ratios
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Night shift, rotating 3x12 and 4x12 schedule (19:00-7:30)
• 84 hours per two-week pay period
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling not accommodated
• Care for patients with cardiac telemetry, GI, respiratory, neurological, renal, and cardiovascular conditions
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, and cardiac drips (titration required)
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and provide emergency response as needed
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered; must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted
• Required to work either a major or minor holiday for every holiday period
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Travelers who previously worked at this facility must take a minimum 6-month break after a one-year assignment before returning
• Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
