American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a MedSurg/Stepdown unit. The role requires 2 years of MedSurg experience, active SC (or compact) RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and comfort with frequent unit floating.

The position uses a Meditech EMR and involves 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shifts, with travel eligibility and rotation through MedSurg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• 2 years of MedSurg experience required.
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to frequent floating.
• IV start skills required.
• Meditech charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.
• Frequent floating between MedSurg, Stepdown, and MS/Tele units.
• Stepdown ratio 1:4-5, MedSurg ratio 1:5-6.
• Weekdays with every other weekend.
• Holiday coverage on a rotating basis.
• Uses Meditech EMR.
• Provide nursing care across MedSurg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units as needed.
• Floating within a single hospital system per facility policy.

• 29-bed general surgical and orthopedic unit with medical overflow
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Frequent floating between MedSurg, Stepdown, and MS/Tele units required
• Stepdown ratio 1:4-5, MedSurg ratio 1:5-6
• Weekdays with every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Provide nursing care across MedSurg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units as needed
• Floating occurs within a single hospital system in accordance with facility floating policies and appropriate unit orientation
• No background or license history issues accepted
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white required
• Minimal to no RTO approved, especially during the early weeks of the assignment
