Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN for a night shift position in Michigan. The role requires MI licensure, 2 years of stepdown/progressive care experience, and telemetry expertise, plus Cerner EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities include 1:6 nurse-patient ratios in a stepdown unit, care for post-surgical and cardiac patients, and night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with every other weekend. Navy blue scrubs are required and on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• Active MI RN license at time of consideration.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
• Minimum 2 years RN Stepdown/Progressive Care experience.
• Telemetry monitoring experience.
• Cerner EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Stepdown unit setting with a 1:6 patient ratio.
• Care for patients recovering from surgery, cardiac events, and complex conditions such as ventilator and stroke patients.
• Use Cerner EMR system.
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Perform advanced patient monitoring including vital signs and telemetry tracking.
• Conduct regular assessments and initiate interventions for changes in patient condition.
• Administer complex medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips as ordered.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing care.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested.
