Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN for a night shift position in Michigan. The role requires MI licensure, 2 years of stepdown/progressive care experience, and telemetry expertise, plus Cerner EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities include 1:6 nurse-patient ratios in a stepdown unit, care for post-surgical and cardiac patients, and night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with every other weekend. Navy blue scrubs are required and on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

Active MI RN license at time of consideration.
BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
Minimum 2 years RN Stepdown/Progressive Care experience.
Telemetry monitoring experience.
Cerner EMR experience.

Responsibilities

Stepdown unit setting with a 1:6 patient ratio.
Care for patients recovering from surgery, cardiac events, and complex conditions such as ventilator and stroke patients.
Use Cerner EMR system.
Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Every other weekend required.
No on-call requirements.
Perform advanced patient monitoring including vital signs and telemetry tracking.
Conduct regular assessments and initiate interventions for changes in patient condition.
Administer complex medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips as ordered.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
Educate patients and families on disease management, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing care.
Navy blue scrubs required.
Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested.
