Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry/PCU RN for a 13-week night assignment at a 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Level II trauma designation.

Candidates must hold an active MI RN license and current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications, with at least 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience and an Associate degree. Telemetry monitoring and Cerner EHR are used on this cardiac unit.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required
• Experience with cardiac patient populations and telemetry monitoring required
• Experience with cardiac stepdown populations preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to cardiac and stepdown-level patients using telemetry monitoring
• Collaborate with a team-oriented nursing staff
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
• Monitor telemetry equipment and use Cerner EHR
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• On-call only during low census periods
• Floating to other units as needed
• Travel rate requires residency 60 miles or more from the facility
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry/PCU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience and an active MI RN license.

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
• Associate degree required
• Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips required
• Experience with cardiac stepdown populations required
• PCU/stepdown and low-level ICU skills preferred

Responsibilities

• 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Level II trauma designation
• Cardiac IMCU / Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with 36 beds
• Patient population includes cardiac and stepdown-level patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre and post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular issues, and CHF
• Uses telemetry monitoring equipment and Cerner EHR
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• On-call only required during low census periods
• Provide direct patient care to cardiac and stepdown-level patients using telemetry monitoring
• Collaborate closely with a team-oriented nursing staff
• Scrub color must be blue or navy with no blue jeans permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
