Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit in Illinois requiring an active IL RN license and telemetry stepdown experience in a 24-bed unit at a Level 2 trauma center.

Night shifts are 12 hours; weekend work is possible; EPIC EMR is used. Responsibilities include caring for dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary conditions, sepsis, and high O2 needs; administers IV drips (dopamine, nitro, heparin, precedex, amio, dobutamine, nicardipine).

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• BSN not required.

• 24-bed Progressive Care stepdown unit in an acute care hospital setting.
• Level 2 trauma center.
• Patient ratios of 1:3 to 1:4 depending on acuity.
• Administers medication drips including dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, and nicardipine.
• Provide telemetry and stepdown nursing care to a medically complex patient population.

Responsibilities

• 24-bed Progressive Care stepdown unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Level 2 trauma center
• Patient ratios of 1:3 to 1:4 depending on acuity
• Patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary conditions, sepsis, high flow O2 needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
• Administers medication drips including dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, and nicardipine
• 12-hour night shifts
• May be required to work up to every other weekend
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• High patient throughput typical of stepdown units
• Unit educator works closely with staff to provide support
• Provide telemetry and stepdown nursing care to a medically complex patient population
