Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a night-shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with Neuro experience. Candidate must hold OH or compact RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and have 1+ year PCU experience. EPIC EMR proficiency and ability to float within the OSU system are required.

Shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30, 36 hours/week; rotating weekdays, weekends, holidays; time-sensitive Ohio fingerprinting will be completed after contract signing.

Qualifications

• Active OH or compact RN license at time of consideration.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum 1 year of PCU-level experience with Neuro patients.
• Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
• Two professional references required (Manager/Director and Charge RN or higher).

Responsibilities

• PCU/Neuro Stepdown/IMC unit setting.
• Neurological and cardiac patient population including CVA, craniotomy, intracranial bleeds, TBI, and post-TPA care.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30, 36 hours per week.
• Rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Floating within OSU system.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• Provide direct nursing care to neuro and cardiac stepdown patients, including pre/post neurosurgery and craniotomy care.
• Manage isolation precautions/PPE and respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen administration.
• Complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract.
• First-time travelers welcome; 1 year experience may require manager review.
• Former employees eligible after 6 months away.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
• RTO must be submitted with application, limited to 7 days or less.

• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and heparin protocols
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher; no coworker references accepted
