Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN for a 25-bed Med Tele unit in Kansas. Requires KS or compact RN license and at least 1 year of telemetry experience. BLS/ACLS certifications and NIH Stroke Certification for Tele unit are required.

The role involves a 7:00 AM–7:00 PM day shift, patient load 4–5:1, and floating to related units as needed. Travel-friendly benefits and housing assistance are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Care for a 25-bed Medical Telemetry unit with renal, urology, oncology, pulmonology, cardiology, and general med-surg patients.
• Maintain patient ratio of 4-5:1.
• Unit staffed with techs and supported by charge nurses.
• Document care using Meditech EBCD; operate EKG, bladder scanner, Hoyer lift, and other equipment.
• 60-hour weekly schedule on a 7:00 AM–7:00 PM day shift; includes every 3rd weekend.

Responsibilities

• 25-bed Medical Telemetry unit caring primarily for renal, urology, oncology, pulmonology, cardiology, and general med-surg patients
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1
• Unit staffed with techs and supported by charge nurses
• Equipment used includes EKG, bladder scanner, sit-to-stand lift, Hoyer lift, hover mat, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis
• Charting completed in Meditech EBCD
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Scheduled for 3 shifts per week with at least every 3rd weekend required
• Floating required to like units including Ortho, Neuro, CCU, CDU, SSU, Obs, and Rehab
• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity Med Tele unit with a strong focus on safety, quality, and documentation compliance related to central lines, foleys, and C. diff/HAI prevention
• Participate in Nurse Leader Rounds including pre-rounds to confirm patient preferences and post-rounds for coaching and recognition
• Hospital holds Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, Colorectal Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Orthopedic certifications
• Facility is known for robotic surgery program, including a new urology robot unique to the region
• Required dress code: royal blue scrub tops, royal blue or black pants, and grey, white, black, or royal blue undershirt
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
