American Traveler in Austin, TX is seeking a Travel RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit. You will care for patients with cardiac conditions, support imaging and cath procedures, and float within multiple med/surg units as needed.

Requirements include TX license, BLS/ACLS, NIH stroke scale (as needed), and at least 1 year of nursing experience with telemetry exposure. Local candidates considered; travel stipends apply.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for a cardiac telemetry population and assist with stabilizing unit staffing
Precept and support newly hired staff and RN residents as the unit rebuilds its core team
Demonstrate strong engagement and willingness to train others

Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit requiring cardiac experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

Work on a 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry Unit within a stepdown intermediate care setting
Care for patients with cardiac conditions such as chest pain, CHF, advanced heart failure, and syncope
Support patients undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, diagnostic and interventional heart catheterization
Assist with procedures including Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR
Unit may overflow to general med/surg or non-cardiac patients as needed
Day shift schedule from 06:45-19:15
Primary floating assignment to one of five acute care med/surg units typically staffed at 5:1 ratios
