American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN for 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7am) on a busy Neuro/Cardiopulmonary Telemetry unit in Chandler, AZ. The role requires recent RN experience, AZ or Compact license, and active BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications.

Expect 26-bed unit with onsite RT and Pharmacy support, patient ratios of 1:3-4, and potential float to sister facilities. Two days of unit-specific orientation are provided.

Qualifications

Active AZ or Compact RN license required.
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS active certifications required.
Minimum 2 years RN experience, recent.
Ability to interpret EKGs accurately.
Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam within 24–48 hours prior to acceptance.
Copy of driver’s license required for consideration.
Two professional references (one supervisor, one peer) with dates and rehiring eligibility.

Responsibilities

Provide telemetry nursing care to Neuro, CVA, and pulmonary patients on a busy acute care unit.
Two days of unit-specific orientation provided.
Pass/fail Relias/ dysrhythmia and sterile technique tests on day one to orientation success.
On-call duties and hospitalist rounds as needed.

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift Neuro/Cardiopulmonary Telemetry unit requiring recent experience and AZ or compact RN licensure.

Details

Acute care Level 1 trauma hospital setting on the B3A Cardiopulmonary Telemetry and Neuro unit
26-bed unit caring for Neuro, CVA, pulmonary, and general telemetry patients
Patient ratios of 1:3-4 with dedicated charge nurse and manager not carrying patient assignments
PCT support provided at a ratio of 1 per every 13 patients
Uses Cerner EMR
Centralized telemetry monitoring requiring RNs to interpret EKGs independently
Uses Airvo/High Flow equipment
12-hour night shifts, 7pm-7am
Every other weekend required
First to float, including potential float to a sister facility
24/7 in-house Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support
Hospitalist rounds during the day and is on call overnight

Requirements

Active AZ or Compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required and must be active, pending certifications not accepted
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with recent experience within the past 6 months
BSN not required
Must be able to interpret EKGs
Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to position acceptance, maximum of 2 attempts allowed
Copy of driver\'s license required for consideration
2 professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, both including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Pass/fail Sim Lab test required on day one of orientation with study guides provided in advance
Pass/fail Sterile Technique test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes required on first day of orientation
Failure of the second attempt on the Relias Dysrhythmia or Sterile Technique test results in a 6-month do-not-use status with this health system in the Arizona region
Navy scrub color required
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible, as verified by driver\'s license address
Candidates who have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by this health system, including CHI or Dignity facilities, within the past year are not eligible; PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable
