Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is hiring a Stepdown RN in Texas for a 13‑week travel assignment. Day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 4×12‑hour days, 48 hrs/wk with 36 or 48 hour options. Telemetry/stepdown unit with 1:4 to 1:6 nurse:patient ratios.

Requirements: TX or compact RN license, 1+ year of recent nursing experience, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; Epic charting experience preferred. First-time travelers welcome.

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN with a TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience for a day-shift telemetry/step-down role.

Details

• Step-down unit with a mix of med/surg and intermediate care patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on assignment
• Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with 36 or 48 hour options
• Nurses may be asked to take med/surg patients during overflow
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Care duties may include IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, and administration of cardiac and vasoactive medications without titration
• Additional patient care areas may include wound care, renal failure management, CVA, and substance withdrawal care
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
